Wool serge.
A thick gauge, heavy-duty wool fabric that is used in theatres and at events. Because of its excellent sound dampening qualities, it is commonly seen hanging behind stages at indoor concerts. It is incredibly hard-wearing and is mostly suited to permanent installs rather than single usage.
Molton.
Not as heavy gauge or as hard wearing as wool serge, this fabric is a much easier to use and cost-effective product more suited to event dressing rather than for permanent installations. The fabric is a thick felt and is available in many different colours. It is commonly used in set design, set dressing, lining walls within marquees and creating false ceilings. It does not have the same sound dampening qualities as wool serge and it is usually a single-use product.
